Damage by water
It’s advisable not to fix wooden flooring in a home that has high moisture content. Moisture can make wood swell or get infested with mildew. While mopping wooden floors with a wet cloth is okay, if done carefully, but ensure that no water stays onto the surface for long. It is also important to keep flooring relatively dry, since sitting water/moisture can cause the planks to swell, warp, etc., though some brands are equipped with water-resistant coatings.
