We Indians think twice before spending and expect multifold returns for every rupee spent and home inspections are no different. Home Inspection is a process of determining the liveable condition of the house and to be aware of possible surprises as early as possible. These surprises could cause minor inconveniences & frustrations (cases like hollow tiles, leaky pipes etc.) or be potentially life threatening (faulty leakage circuit board, missing safety bars etc.) and hence critical!
In either case, a Home Inspection by an expert is always worth it economically or otherwise. Let’s take an example of hollow tiles:
Assume there were a few hollow tiles in the flat which you missed noticing during the handover. The possibility of breaking or developing cracks in the not so distant future is very much likely with slightest of weight drop! The challenges involved to fix these are plenty:
– finding few additional tiles to match with existing floor design
– finding labour to fix these few tiles
– coordination involving labour, raw materials, implementation;
– more importantly finding time to balancing it with current chores!!
Even if there are 3-4 hollow tiles in a flat, the saving will be minimum 3-4 times of the inspection fees. Similarly, if there are other issues like leakages, electrical safety, doors & window operations, you can imagine what would it cost to fix? What about the consequences?
Prevention is always better than cure, in economic and non-economic terms!! Do the smart thing – call the experts from www.homeinspektor.com to perform a pre delivery inspection of a home that you are taking possession of.
